We've updated how matching works on Azar! This new matching experience is available on iOS version 7.11.0 and later when specific requirements are met. If you're on an earlier version or a different platform, you'll continue to see the matching experience you're used to for now. Here's what's new and what to expect.
What's new about matching on Azar?
We've made matching faster and more direct. Instead of sending a request and waiting to hear back later, you'll now see right away when someone is available to connect, decide in the moment whether to chat, and confirm once more before your video chat begins.
How does the new two-step matching work?
- When a possible match is found, you'll see their profile card. Tap Invite if you're interested, or Skip to keep looking.
- If you both tap Invite in time, you'll move to a quick second step where you can turn your camera on and confirm you're ready. Tap Let's Chat when you are.
- Once you both confirm, your video chat starts right away!
What happens if I (or my match) don't respond in time?
Possible matches are only available for a limited time. If you or your match don't respond before the timer runs out, the match may no longer be available.
Opt in before time runs out so you don't miss the chance to connect with a person who may become your next best pal!
Will I be charged even if the chat doesn't happen?
Yes. You're charged when you open a profile card, regardless of whether you tap Invite, Skip, or the video chat actually starts.
You won't be charged an additional fee when the chat begins, but opening another profile card will require a new charge.
Do my filters and existing subscriptions still work?
You can still choose the gender and countries you want to match with. You may also be able to meet people from a wider range of countries than before. Though pricing for some filters may be different from before.
As with the previous iOS matching experience, subscription products available on Android or via web aren't usable within this new experience. If anything you own is affected, we'll be sure to let you know directly.
