How does Live Translation work?
Live Translation processes your speech in three steps:
- Speech-to-text transcription: Your speech is converted into text, creating a transcript of what you said.
- Machine translation: The transcript is translated into the selected subtitle language.
- Subtitles: The translated text is displayed as subtitles during the video chat.
What data is used for Live Translation?
When you enable Live Translation, Azar will process your speech to create a transcript of the words recognised from your speech and machine-translated subtitles.
How does Azar manage my data?
We rely on your consent to process your speech to enable Live Translation. You can withdraw your consent anytime in Settings and Azar will stop speech collection for Live Translation.
Speech-recognition device permission may also be requested for the feature to work.
Your speech, transcripts, and subtitles are all processed ephemerally. We do not store them and we do not use them to improve the Live Translation feature.
